Beauty Habits You Should Do Every Morning
Mornings can be rough. Sometimes it’s hard to even find time to scarf down a protein bar and put on mascara before running out the door. But it’s important to start your day off right. So, we’re going to suggest that you get up a few minutes earlier and change up your morning routine to incorporate these highly effective beauty habits. They’ll help keep you looking and feeling your best.
Drink Up!
Start your day with a big glass of water and keep hydrated throughout the day. Water first thing in the morning will rehydrate you, flush out toxins, wake up your groggy brain and give you glowing skin. Also consider adding green tea to your daily ritual, which can give your immune system a boost with its antioxidant properties and give you energy to face the day with a little jolt of caffeine.
Invigorate and De-Puff
There are a number of ways to invigorate yourself in the morning and get the blood flowing, whether you want to take a shower (with a blast of cool water at the end), do some strength or cardio exercises, or play some music. If your skin is puffy, consider using a jade/stone face roller that’s been chilled in the fridge, misting your face with cold water, or using an eye cream that contains caffeine.
Start with a Serum
To protect and plump that beautiful face, start your day by using a serum on dry skin to help prevent environmental and free radical damage. Using a serum can help retain moisture, add resiliency and elasticity. Be sure to let the serum soak in for a few minutes before applying your moisturizer.
Don’t Neglect Your Neck
Our necks have thin, delicate skin that tend to show aging long before our faces do – so make sure your morning routine doesn’t neglect the neck. Apply serums, moisturizer and sunscreen to your neck and chest every day, and look for products that are specifically made to treat and protect that delicate skin.
Sunscreen, Sunscreen, Sunscreen
Did we mention sunscreen? Get a broad-spectrum, high-SPF sunscreen and wear it every day – rain or shine. Some formulations are powders that can go on on-top of your makeup, while others may be built in to your moisturizer, primer, or foundation. Find a sunscreen product that you love and make it a part of your routine. This is the number one habit to protect your skin from sun damage, wrinkles, dark spots and even skin cancer, so don’t forget!
